If you visited my Facebook page last week you probably saw some behind-the-scene pictures from this campaign…and now, here are the finished images. I was so happy to be able to be a part of this project with so many talented ladies. Each Miami fashion blogger was asked to wear the custom made shirt to the shoot and add our own touch to it to make it unique. Here’s mine:
I paired the top with a fun colored skirt from H&M and of course, you know I had to add some bling. I found some push-pin type of embellishments at Michael’s and added them along the neckline and two on each side of the arm to keep the fold up. It didn’t take me that long and honestly, I was kind of proud of myself…I wouldn’t consider myself a crafty Martha…unlike the other Martha we all know ;)
This campaign brought together 26 Miami Fashion Bloggers for one important cause…the fight against breast cancer. These shirts will be sold in various stores in South Florida and all the proceeds benefit the The Florida Foundation for Breast Cancer. So…yes, a tee shirt can help save a life. The proceeds help fund research, treatment and prevention care.
In this next picture you can see the side arms better…I thought I was pretty clever at putting the pins there and keeping the shirt rolled up. Yes, that’s me patting myself on the back. Hey, it’s baby steps for me when it comes to DIY.
If you’re interested in picking up one of these fabulous shirts (for an amazing cause), you can do so at these stores:
Guy and Girl Boutique
1801 Collins Ave
Miami Beach, FL 33139
And of course, it wouldn’t be Miami if we didn’t have some sort of party to top it all off. This is going to be a great event and if you’re in the area…I would LOVE for you to come by.
On Saturday, October 13 during Art Walk at the grand opening launch of Wynwood Squat, all the photos of the twenty-six fashion bloggers will be on exhibit from 7 to 11 P.M. Wynwood Squat (wynwoodsquat.com) is free giant pop up which features 40 plus designers, artists, and entrepreneurs with monthly rotating art and video installations, live music and DJ, specialty cocktails and bites.
Big thanks to Annie Vasquez from The Fashion Poet for designing the shirt and organizing all us ladies together for this campaign and to Getty Images celebrity photographer Alexander Tamargo for these fabulous shots!
Interested in seeing what all the other ladies did to their shirt or how they styled it?
