Getting organized is always one of my resolutions and this year, it kind of became a “must do” with our two bedroom apartment soon becoming home to a new baby…so we desperately needed to organize, rearrange and maximize our space. The areas I focused on for this project were my bathroom counter with my makeup, my jewelry armoire which housed all my jewels and the corner of our master bedroom which used to serve as my “blow out” station. I knew I could consolidated the three and save some space (and make myself a true beauty corner). I was able to do this project for around $330.00 total so it felt like a cost efficient way to check one of my most daunting resolutions off the list. Here’s what I used:
Katherine White Chrome Glass Dressing Table with stool: This table was a great find at $249.00. The hubby built the table in about an hour. I told him not to add the mirror it came with because it was too small for what I mind.
Simple white full length mirror (similar here): Because the area where I was focusing on is narrow and tall, I wanted to make sure I didn’t waste any wall space so I chose to get this plain white mirror in lieu of a more decorative smaller mirror. It works great for when I’m sitting and standing in front of it.
Acrylic edge box for hair accessories and products from Container Store: This is a great box because it has three deep compartments. This is now where I have all my hair ties, hair clips and the hair serums, sprays and oils. Very happy to have right next to the blowdryer’s new location.
Four (4) acrylic boxes with compartments for jewelry from Container Store: I admit I had to do a A LOT of editing in my jewelry department. I donated a bag full of stuff I hadn’t worn in years…this allowed me to keep my best pieces and organize them neatly into these fabulous acrylic boxes.
Large acrylic makeup organizer from Container Store: The editing continued in the makeup department. Once I narrowed down everything, this organizer was the perfect size, shape to hold all my makeup.
One (1) Anchor wire 5lb nail for hairdryer: This isn’t the prettiest of hooks but it definitely serves its purpose. I can hang my blow dryer from this and always keep it close by while getting ready.
Small wire nails used for necklaces: These small nails are barely visible due to their size but don’t let that fool you…they work perfectly for necklaces and hold them with no problem. I scattered them and sorted each side by silver and gold. The bigger statement necklaces are housed underneath with the rest of the jewelry.

Overall, I’m really happy with the results. I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to get organized, get rid of things that are just taking up space and to have my own little slice of “me” ;)
So, ladies…what have been your resolutions?
Any of them involved organization? If so, let me know how you’ve managed to to do so.
XOXO,
Martha

Well done! The jewellery set up looks great! I thin using acrylic boxes are a brilliant idea. Sometimes going to a craft store and using those boxes come in handy. Have a wonderful weekend. /Madison :)
