Going Places

(This is a sponsored campaign in collaboration with Evenflo & Latina Bloggers Connect. I received this car seat plus compensation for this post/review. All opinions are genuinely my own.)
Fact: I do things in haste…mostly because I’m short on time lately (see: Mia). When this car seat arrived, I took it out of its box and didn’t see the instructions (which were safely tucked away in the back of the seat). I assumed the peeps at Evenflo thought, since I’m a mom, I should be a wiz at installing a car seat sans instructions. Turns out, thanks to this car seat…I am.
I can not state just how simple it is to install. I, without instructions, was able to install this car seat in under 10 minutes. No joke. Easy peasy.
Of course once it was all installed, I found the instructions and laughed (and double checked my work…better to be safe than smarty pants).
We (Mia and I) have had the Evenflo Platinum Symphony LX car seat now for about a week and we are totally in love with it.
Here’s why…

First for the obvious…it’s sooooo easy! Not just to install but also to adjust. The Infinite Slide harness makes adjusting to your little one’s size a breeze. This is so necessary when babies grow at the rate they do.
The SureLATCH system is genius. I have another car seat (which shall remain nameless) and it’s a bitch to install and God help you if you need to unlatch it…it’s a nightmare. With Evenflo’s SureLATCH system, the release button is visible and easily accessible. No more broken nails for me…major points for Evenflo!
We also really like the height of this seat. It gives Mia the chance to look out the window comfortably and check out the world outside. She LOVES this!
Another major reason is the fabric. Yep, the fabric is the stuff a baby’s bottom dreams of! It keeps the baby cool or warm depending on the baby’s body temperature. Talk about necessity in Miami. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve taken Mia out of her old car seat only to find that her back is totally drenched in sweat. It’s horrible for them and it makes you feel like a shitty parent…at least me. We have an SUV and it takes longer to cool down…especially on hot days, so this NASA developed fabric (Outlast Performance fabric) is a real game changer. If you’re a parent, you know that a hot baby is a fussy baby…and that’s a distraction while you’re driving. By keeping the baby comfortable, Evenflo is helping keep parents focused on the road and potentially avoiding any accidents.
And lastly, this car seat has “perks”…you know, it’s the little things that can make the biggest differences. It features two cup holders which will come in handy as Mia gets older. For now, I’m using them to hold some of her “car” toys.
Also, the car seat is equipped with a “buckle pockets”. These pockets conveintely tuck the buckles away to make getting the baby in and out of the seat easier…plus, no more dangerously hot buckles to worry about. IMG_7308IMG_7296IMG_7303IMG_7309IMG_7310
All in all, Mia gives this car seat a high five on awesomeness. And trust me, a happy baby is a happy mommy.
You can purchase the Evenflo Platinum Symphony LX car seat at your nearest Babies R Us store. You can see the full specifications there.

It sounds so wonderful! I loved that they thought of the cool/warm feature to prevent that heat-related discomfort. Even as an adult I can relate after those long drives in cars on a hot day – not good. Fantastic review and gorgeous photos – your little girl is such a sweetheart! x

Great review of the car seat! Adorable little girl!
Please look into turning her back around rear facing, I would think evenflo would let you know but the American academy of pediatrics recommends rear facing until at least two years old. She is SO cute, I’d hate for anything to happen to her if some crazy driver hit you.

      Hi Ana,
You’re totally right and I kept her rear facing until she hit 20lbs.
She’s also quite tall (already 34 inches in height) so she was very, very fussy when she was rear facing.
I found her to be much more relaxed and happy the moment I faced her forward.
I know the benefits and it’s something I really will think about.
Perhaps I need to readjust the seat so that she’s more comfortable with her legs in a rear facing position.
I really appreciate your concern and thank you for taking the time to write me.
