Babboe Bike

It’s amazing how much you change as a person when you become a parent. For example, the kind of gifts that I usually asked the hubby for were pretty Princess typical.
My usual “go-to” list was always something shiny, something blingy, something spa like and/or something bubbly.
And obviously that’s not to say that I don’t LOVE those things anymore (I do!), it’s just to say that other things moved rapidly up the list…like this Babboe cargo bike for example.
I saw it a couple months ago on Instagram and I kept telling the hubby that I wanted it for me and Mia. You know, so we could ride it to the beach, to the farmers’ market, to the playground…basically all over Miami Beach.
Well, the hubby did good and ordered the bike for us and after 6 weeks of waiting, it arrived.
Straight from Holland via Orange Pedal Bikes in Wynwood.
And yes, it’s not as shiny and sparkly as some other things I love, but it’s every bit as fabulous. Wouldn’t you agree?

Soaprezza Beauty

I had a belated birthday lunch with my bestie last week and he took me out for a fabulous lunch and gifted me with this beautiful box from Body Rock Scrubs. He obviously knows me very well so I knew that what this little red box contained HAD to be good.
I was wrong…the products aren’t good, they’re amazing! You guys know by now that I’m an organic/natural/healthy type of gal so I love anytime that I can incorporate good quality products into my life that not only enhance my well being but also look/feel/smell beautiful too.
The packaging was very simple and perfectly appropriate for the vibe of everything inside the box. A little rustic but very beautiful and chic.

Marilyn Monroe Spa

There are a lot of truly fabulous things about being a blogger and one of my favorites is the ability to review places like the Marilyn Monroe Spa in Midtown.
They invited me to enjoy their signature manicure and pedicure the day after we returned from Switzerland and let me tell you…there was no better way to unwind from the crazy travel than enjoying some good old fashioned pampering at their spa. Continue reading →

Sunshine State of Mind

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with  NEUTROGENA and Latina Bloggers Connect but all words and opinions are my own.

Hello loves!!
I’m finally back in the 305, Dade County, Pitbull’s hometown, the home of the Heat, Mee-A-mi and my personal favorite, The Magic City.
I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to be home, back in touch with our close friends, grabbing dinner at our favorite restaurants and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. It’s nice…really, really nice.
On our first day back, I was so happy to collect all my packages from our front desk. I had 23 of them. It felt a lot like Christmas at my house ;) I couldn’t wait to see what was in all of them.
In one of these packages was the Neutrogena Visibly Even Collection, an Innovative Skincare System for Radiant, Even-Toned Skin…
I was so excited to try it because, well…two words: jet lag. My face was needing a little (read: a lot) of help to recover from the long flight, the lack of sleep and the dehydration from fighting a cold. Thanks to Neutrogena Visibly Even, I was able to revive my skin within just a few days. Continue reading →

Skin Deep

The other day I got an email from a reader (side note: I LOVE when I get emails from my readers…it truly makes my day) asking what I do to maintain my skin so wrinkle-free. Obviously I decided that this woman needed to become my best friend immediately because anyone that sees me as wrinkle-free is A-OKay in my book ;)
But truth be told, I do feel like my skin is hanging on to its youth quite well. True, genetics play a role in it but even if you’ve got Iman as a mother, you still need to invest some time into giving your skin the attention it needs.
I thought I’d share my daily skin routine with all of you and turn the tables and ask you what’s something you would 100% recommend to others about skin care? Continue reading →

Running Free

The other day on Instagram (here), I posted something about how difficult it is to be a Stay-At-Home Mom…or frankly, how to be a mom (period).
It requires you to be available 24/7 to someone other than yourself.
If forces you to find patience when you’re sure you’ve got none left.
And sometimes, yes, it can be totally and utterly overwhelming.
I don’t say this to complain about motherhood…I say this almost as a disclaimer to it. There are a lot of amazing things that have come from me being a mom and probably one of the greatest thing is the way you become totally unselfish with your own time and energy. You won’t think twice about putting your child first and that’s a truly beautiful thing but that’s also why it’s so important to remind yourself to take time for you. Just you. In the midst of being moms (in some cases super moms), we forget about doing something good for ourselves. For me, it’s working out and staying fit.
Back in Miami I was in my routine of Pilates, Barry’s Bootcamp and recently barre but here in Switzerland I’m having to carve out “me time” with good old fashioned runs by the lake.

Good Hair (Every) Day

image (1)
{Shirt: J. Crew vintage cotton tee in Spanish}

Having long hair in Miami is no easy task. I mean, I have to deal with humidity, rain, salt air, intense sun and the blowdryer on a daily basis. Long hair in Miami takes a beating and I’ll be honest, I’m not always the kindest to my hair. I’ll pull it back when it’s wet, do a hot blowdry on it to get it dry faster, leave it in a ponytail for a full day and more….so when RICH hair care offered to send me their collection to try, I was like “oh yeah…bring it on!”.
I’ve been using these products for two weeks now and between us gals, I wasn’t expecting much…I mean, how often have you purchased a product that promises miracle results only to be sadly disappointed?
I have. I’ve done it a lot…epsecially with hair care so I wasn’t keeping my hopes too high when the package arrived. Obviously the products proved me wrong (or else I wouldn’t be here writing this post). And by proved me wrong, I mean they gave me the side-eye, looked at my hair and said “girl, we so got this.”

Epitome Spa

IMG_7402
There’s a saying that bigger is better…and I agree that sometimes it’s true BUT when it comes to getting pampered, I prefer to be in an intimate, boutique type of setting and perhaps that I what I love most about Epitome Spa in Coral Gables. I first met the lovely Soumia, owner of Epitome Spa, when I was looking for a way to get my body back into pre-baby shape. I had heard of a technique called “endermologie” and was intrigued at the process. Soumia met with me and explained it in detail. After that initial consultation,  I couldn’t way to try it out and honestly, I’m so grateful I did. I underwent 10 sessions and I can tell you that I genuinely SAW a difference in the shape of my thighs and butt. It’s non-evasive, totally natural (no injections, chemicals or pills) and pretty much pain free. Best part, Soumia is officially trained by LPG (the company that founded endermologie) and she just happens to be one of 2 spas in the Miami area with the latest (and greatest) endermologie machine. Having spent so much time at the spa, I got to really enjoy (and learn) about other extensive and tried & true methods of beauty. Check out my thoughts on what else Epitome Spa offers… Continue reading →

Beauty of Spring

IMG_7248
(This is a sponsored campaign in collaboration with Neutrogena and Latina Bloggers Connect. I received the products mentioned plus compensation for this post. All opinions and pictures are my own).
What does Spring time in Miami mean? Well, for starters it means less crowds (after Spring Break of course)…and trust me, all us locals jump for joy when that happens. Less crowds also means more beach space and that’s what I love about Spring time in Miami. Being able to head to the beach and carve out a large area of sand for me and my family/friends to enjoy. There’s nothing better than spending the day under the sun and finishing off the day with drinks and dinner under the stars. Continue reading →

BONBON

IMG_7346
Shout out to the fabulous people at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour for sending this new fragrance my way from Viktor & Rolf. It’s called BONBON and it’s as delicious smelling as the name implies. It’s a beautiful and feminine scent that is absolutely perfect for springtime. First off, the packaging is fit for a princess so you know they had be at the bow. It’s a delicate blend of tangerine, black currant, orange, orange blossom, jasmine, peach, guaiac wood, cedar wood and caramel. For me, it’s just begging to be worn out at to an elegant evening event or an outdoor wedding. I can picture it now…a balmy wind in the air, the sun setting, a big white  tent housing a beautiful candlelight interior and a live orchestra playing a little Sinatra. Oh yes…this perfume would be perfect for such a soiree…

Now, if anyone has an invite they’d like to send my way…I know just what I’d wear:

Viktor & Rolf Springtime Fashion

XOXO,
